How do I get to the
Teacher Folders? (Teachers)

How do I get to the
Teacher Folders? (Students)

Where are the handed-in files?

Getting Started

  • Every teacher has a Teacher Folder
  • Inside the Teacher Folder is a DropBox, where handed in work goes
  • Teachers can create folders inside their Teacher Folder
  • Students should not double-click files in the Teacher Folder - drag them out to your computer first
  • Teachers should drag files out of the DropBox and onto their computer to grade them. (It might be a good idea to delete them from the DropBox afterward, so the teacher remembers what's been graded already)

Troubleshooting

  • I don't have a "Teachers" folder in my Doc
    • Please stop by the iHelp room for support

  • My computer won't let me save something I got from the teacher's folder
    • You may have double-clicked the file and opened it from the teacher folder. Try saving it with a new name in your own documents folder.

  • It takes a long time to get multiple video files out of the Teacher DropBox
    • Consider using UMTube for video projects

  • A video in the teacher folder is not opening or is slow or jumpy
    • Videos (and all files) should be dragged out onto your computer first before opening

  • The teacher DropBox gets very disorganized when students hand work in
    • Consider having the students use the Hand-in Robot to hand work in; it automatically adds the period and student name to the name of the file. The files in the DropBox will automatically be sorted by period and name

  • The dock shortcut isn't working!
    • Click the apple drop-down in the upper left corner of your Mac. Choose "Recent Items" - look near the bottom of the list for "BuildingShare" & click it.
